Bump bars or touch on the KDS

We’re standardizing on bump bars unless someone has a strong case for touch; after switching grill and fry last month, lunch 11–1 dropped about 12 seconds per ticket and gloves aren’t slowing taps. If you’ve kept touch, tell me what training or layout offsets the fat-finger issue and what your numbers look.

We kept touch on expo, and the one thing that killed the “fat-finger” misses was upping button targets to about 48px with about 8px dead space between actions so gloved crews can knuckle‑tap clean. After that, 11–1 improved about 9 sec/ticket vs our old layout, though your 12 sec with bump bars is hard to argue with; we still keep bars on fry, but touch holds up fine on expo with that layout.
